Product Overview
California Micro Devices introduces the new CM1460, a new L-C based filter array available in four, six or eight channels of EMI filtering with integrated ESD protection. These devices are available in 4, 6 and 8 channel configurations. These devices are packaged in 0.5mm pitch TDFN packages for a significant space reduction when compared to discrete solutions. These devices are ideal for portable electronics, especially wireless handsets, PDAs and notebook computers due to their small package size. Typical applications for these devices include EMI filtering & ESD protection for data and control lines on I/O ports, LCD displays and camera interfaces in mobile handsets.

Product Features

The CM1460 features four, six and eight integrated channels of EMI filtering. An C-L-C filter comprises each channel, with the CM1460 having values of 15pF-17nH -15pF. The CM1460 offers greater than -30dB attenuation (typical) at 1GHz. The CM1460 features a rolloff frequency (-6dB) of 350MHz.The CM1460 can be used in applications where the data rate is as high as 140Mbps.

The CM1460 features integrated ESD protection with up to ±15kV contact protection on each channel, well beyond the IEC61000-4-2 Level 4 specification of ±8kV. These devices are also rated for contact discharges of greater than ±30kV per the MIL-STD-883 (Method 3015) specification for Human Body Model (HBM) ESD.

The CM1460 is available in CMD's 0.5mm pitch TDFN package, a space-saving, low-profile package ideal for space critical applications. These packages provide significant space savings when compared to discrete solutions and offer improved reliability during manufacturing.

  • TDFN package with 0.50mm lead pitch:
    • 4-ch. = 8-lead TDFN
    • 6-ch. = 12-lead TDFN

  • Tiny TDFN package size:
    • 8-lead: 2.00mm 2.00mm
    • 12-lead: 3.00mm x 1.35mm
    • 16-lead: 4.00mm x 1.60mm
  • Increased robustness against vertical impacts during manufacturing process
  • Lead free versions avilable

Sampling, Pricing and Availability

The CM1460 is currently sampling, and pricing starts at $0.34, $0.43 and $0.52 in 1,000 units for the 4, 6 and 8 channel configurations respectively. Production is scheduled for Q2 2006. The CM1460 is offered in a lead free TDFN package.
