Micro Devices Presents Latest ASIP™ and Analog Solutions
at Intel Developer Forum
ESD Protection and Signal Integrity
Solutions for HDMI 1.3, eSATA, and other High Speed Ports
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., -- Sept. 25,
2006 --
California Micro Devices (NASDAQ: CAMD) today announced
that it will be presenting its latest Application Specific Integrated
Passive™ (ASIP™) and analog semiconductor
solutions for high speed port protection at the Intel Developer Forum.
California Micro Devices’ highly integrated, single chip solutions
provide robust low capacitance ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection,
along with other analog functions such as overcurrent protection, signal
buffering, voltage level shifters, and active termination for improved
signal integrity and lower system cost. They are designed into a broad
range of leading personal computers, monitors, printers and networking
cards, and into digital consumer electronics such as digital TVs, set
top boxes and DVD players.
First Showing of Latest Third Generation
HDMI™ 1.3 Port Protection Solutions with MediaGuard™
CMD will be showcasing its third generation
port protection solutions for high speed HDMI™ (High-Definition
Multimedia Interface™) 1.3 interfaces in digital consumer
devices such as digital TVs, DVD and recordable DVD players, flat panel
monitors, set top boxes, personal computers and video game consoles.
These highly integrated devices feature ESD protection, backdrive and
overcurrent protection, voltage level shifting, as well I2C
accelerators and CEC active termination. The newly announced MediaGuard
CM2030 and CM2031 multifunction ASIP (Application Specific
Integrated Passive) devices support the latest advanced HDMI™
1.3 capabilities including higher speeds, as well as CEC enhancements
and extended length cable support. They provide up to 60 percent cost
and space savings compared to discrete solutions.
Other Booth Highlights
Major applications that California Micro
Devices will be presenting include:
- ESD Protection for High Speed Data Ports:
- Ideal for USB, Ethernet, IEEE 1394, Serial ATA;
- High levels of protection: minimum 8kV contact per IEC61000-4-2;
- Low capacitance: down to 0.8 pF, for best signal integrity;
- Multichannel configuration for low part count and ease of layout.
- High Speed Video Port Protection:
- MediaGuard solutions for HDMI, UDI, DVI, DisplayPort.
- Analog Video Port Protection:
- Popular CM2009 and CM2006 for VGA ports.
