| Optimal ESD Protection Design for Systems using HDMI™ | |
|
California Micro Devices invites you to view a comprehensive webinar replay that focuses on using practical design techniques to preserve signal integrity in products adhering to the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI™) standard. Hear straight from a systems engineer what appropriate electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection parameters to consider in digital video and audio applications using high speed interface technologies. Learn how CMD's MediaGuard™, XtremeESD® and PicoGuard® ultra low capacitance ESD protection products can provide robust ESD protection and superior signal integrity. Let CMD's experienced applications engineering team demonstrate design guidelines that will improve your time to market and reduce your project costs.
TOPICS OF DISCUSSION:
TARGET AUDIENCE: Advanced to intermediate level design engineers using high speed interface standards such as DVI, HDMI™ and DisplayPort™ applications. DURATION: 1 hour (approx.)

THREE PLATFORMS OF ESD PROTECTION: XtremeESD is CMD's first family of ESD protection devices. Based on the PicoGuard XP® architecture, the CM1231 is implemented using a two stage matched clamp array. It offers significantly better ESD performance than traditional ESD protection devices such as varistors and suppressors. PicoGuard XS® is a low capacitance architecture designed for high speed data line protection. This second generation family includes the CM1233, CM1234, CM1235 and CM1236 devices, each offering superior ESD protection and excellent impedance matching. MediaGuard is the third generation of family of port protection products. This ultra low capacitance architecture is optimized for high speed ports used in set top boxes, DVD players, digital TVs and other multimedia audio and video applications. Four products protect the data ports. The CM2020 and CM12021 protect the transmitter port, source and sink respectively; and the CM2030 and CM2031 protect the receiver port, source and sink respectively. These single chip solutions provide superior electrical isolation, backdrive protection, level shifting and overcurrent protection.
